Fluid Figurative Expression - life drawing with dancer model using Ink

All materials supplied.

Using ink and various approaches you will discover how to create a series of dynamic, powerful and expressive drawings focusing on movement, gesture and power.

A wonderful class for breaking new ground with your mark making and exploring a wide variety of expressive and intuitive possibilities.

A great boost to your folio or purely for the sheer joy of using ink with life drawing.

Life drawing with dancer model using ink, charcoal and mixed mediums

All materials supplied.

Using the wonderful and powerful combination of ink and charcoal and exploring various approaches you will discover how to create a series of dynamic, powerful and expressive drawings focusing on movement, gesture and power.

You will discover the rich and seductive drawings that you can create using this beautiful and complimentary approach of mixing charcoal and ink together.

You will gain new ways of starting and resolving your figurative works. This class may help you discover your own personal expressive approach to using ink, charcoal and the human figure.


Sunday 4 September - 10:30-1:30pm

Color Cityscape Travel Drawing - charcoal foundation with pastel highlights - from photo to major studio piece

Non traditional pastel and charcoal approach.

Using a photo from your travels that features a cityscape or township of some kind you will learn how to create a major artwork to help extend your photo into something more substantial and interesting.

A great class to learn how to develop your travel photos into something more significant whilst exploring this method of laying a strong charcoal foundation with pastel over the top.

Using this non traditional method of laying charcoal down first and then going over it with color pastel over the top you will learn how this approach gives you great grounding and strength whilst giving you beautiful and powerful color passages.

An absolute must for those wanting to learn how to push their drawing to new levels and create a resolved and powerful artwork.

Note: Bring your own pastels if you have them. Marco will have extra to use on the day.

Color Landscape Travel Drawing - charcoal foundation with pastel highlights - from photo to major studio piece

Using a photo from your travels that features a landscape of some variety you will learn how to create a major artwork to extend your photo into something more substantial and interesting.

You will discover and use the seductive and atmospheric technique of charcoal rub back working from dark to light.

A great class to learn how to develop your travel photos into something much more substantial.

Using this non traditional method of laying charcoal down first and then going over it with color pastel over the top you will learn how this approach gives you great grounding and strength whilst adding beautiful and powerful color passages.

An absolute must for those wanting to learn how to push their drawing to new levels and create a resolved and powerful artwork.

Sunday 6 November - 10:30-1:30pm

Paris - Drawing the bigger picture - Slide Projection Travel Drawing

All materials supplied.

Marco will project a series of wonderful slides from his personal collection of photographs he has taken on his travels to Paris.

In this class you will be able to sketch from large scale projection giving you the feeling of being in situ. This class is aimed to create an environment and situation for you that will inspire dramatic, expressive and dynamic drawings whilst learning how and what Marco himself looks for when drawing these wonderful international cities.

Florence - Drawing the bigger picture - Slide Projection Travel drawing

All materials supplied.

Marco will share with you a series of powerful and engaging photos he took in Florence and you will discover how to create drawings from these big projections of fabulous sites in Florence.

A great class to learn about strong composition and gain an understanding of expressive mark making.

A wonderful class to not only learn about how to draw whilst overseas and on your travels but also to gain an understanding of how tom capture the essential and inspiring elements of your trips.
